We are a water heater installer in kanas city, our plumbers are licensed on both the Kansas and Missouri side. Our go to water heater is the Bradford White 50 gallon gas, defender series. We offer 10 year warranties on both parts and labor for all premium water heaters we install. We also offer a 6 year warranty that only offers 1 year warranty. 

There are a lot of things to consider when installing a new water heater. You want a tank that will be efficient but at the same time produce plenty of hot water. Most all tanks that are available today are going to be energy saver models. The goverment stepped in and required that all tanks be a certain level of efficiency. 

There are also power vent models that are even more efficient than the other water heaters on the market. These power vent models will usually cost at least $1200 just for the water heater. Installation can also be more expensive than a regular unit becuase the vent is usually 4" instead of the standard 3". In less your are in a special situation, it is usually more cost effective to go with the standard water heater instead of the power vent models. 

Tankless water heaters have also been proved to be not quite as efficient as what was originally expected. We actually talk some of our customers our of going with a tankless model. Even though we install quite a few they can be costly. The initial cost to install a tankless water heater is usually around $4,000. The Kanas City climate can be a little tough for tankless as well because the incoming water can be very cold in the winter months.
