Design-Built Homes is a family owned and operated Design/Build business located in Columbia, Mo. The Owner and President, Bruce Finley, has a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural and Environmental Design from The University of Missouri and over 25 years experience in custom home design and construction. Bruce creates the design using state of the art 3D CAD and personally oversees each and every project. Design-Built Homes has developed a reputation for building distinctive custom homes of the highest quality and as a leader in energy efficient design and construction. We are well known for our expertise in green building, solar design, geothermal systems and sustainable energy technology. The first and second homes in Boone County (second and third in Missouri) to go on grid are homes built by Design-Built Homes. These homes feed excess electricity produced back into the electrical grid for credit.

By doing so, we can offer a wide variety of wood species and practically any style and size of log or timber. Our timber frames are fabricated locally, and both timber frame and log homes are erected by local craftsman.
